Boat Photography Tips
- Time of Day – The blue hour and the golden hour are the most magical times of the day for lighting, and creating dramatic photographs.
- Location – Shoot from the shore, on a boat, from another boat, or from a drone for some amazing aerial shots.
- Bring a Tripod – You’ll need to use a tripod for capturing beautiful sunrise, and sunset shots. Bring a remote shutter release so you don’t end up with blurry photos.
- Filters – Neutral Density (ND filter) filters will keep too much light from entering the camera. You need them when using a slow shutter speed on a bright day in order to capture movement of water or clouds. Use a polarizing filter to darken the sky, reduce reflection glare, and make colors pop.
